Redmond.......Blessings of peace..

Recently, I have had a lot of readers to my blog especially from Redmond.  In that part of the U.S., the anger seems to be still smouldering at the apparent injustice meted out to the people when two black men lost their lives at the hands of the Police in recent times.

I as a fellow citizen of the world send my deepest condolences to the families and friends of the men who lost their lives.  So long as they continue to demonstrate peacefully, I have hope that justice will be done - and at least the policing will improve.  There must be scope for better understanding between the Police and the people, so that tragedies like the ones in question can be avoided in the future.  When there is peace between the people and the Police, and improved understanding, such tragedies can be avoided in the future.  The sooner steps are put in place, the better.

It is common sense that the Police everywhere have a difficult task.  They have to apprehend and question anyone they believe to be guilty of criminal or offensive behaviour.  It is natural people don't like to be apprehended by the Police, and often put up a resistance in the face of arrest.  When being apprehended or arrested, the wise thing to do would be to give in, and then let the judicial process give a verdict on the wrongdoing, if any, for which they are being arrested.  Then there would be no justification for the Police to use the ultimate force of the gun.  Otherwise they would have no option to use the gun, fearful of the reaction from the persons opposing them and resisting arrest.

It will be felt to be too harsh a punishment.  The families and friends of the men who died will feel it was no crime or some minor crime the men had committed, and the Police should not have ultimate force.  In hindsight, even the Police may come to the conclusion, and feel sorry that they had to use such force.

I pray that they do, and at least offer their sincere apologies and condolences to the people - and build good relations with the people from then on.  The cases of Mr Brown and Mr Grey have affected the peoples' consciousness deeply, and this trauma must be allowed to heal.  Peace is the only way, and that peace will grow when all people agree to create peace, in memorium of the two men who died.

I pray for blessings on peace unto your communities, and hope in the near future when I hear about Redmond, I will hear of the Police and the people they police making peace.
