Mormonism from the Children's point of view

Posted on October 11, 2015 at 9:23 AM Comments comments ()
Today they had the Ilford Ward Primary Sacrament Presentation, a fun yet solemn presentation of thoughts from the teachings of Prophet Joseph Smith and the Church of Jesus-Christ of Latter-Day Saints (also known as 'the Mormons').

Alisha Kangetsambo : Hope you enjoy the show.
SONG : I know that my Saviour loves me (first verse)

ARABA AGGREY reading the First Article of Faith :
"We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost"

DARREN RAMESH : Heavenly Father is the Father of our Spirit.  Jesus Christ is also God - but
we call Him Son of God.

ALISHA KANGETSAMBO reads John 3:16  (Amaya Ruckmal was absent, not feeling well.  God bless her).

CANAAN KANGETSAMBO JNR : "For God so loved the world....." (John 3:16)
SONG : He Sent His Son

ANGELA RAMESH reads Luke 1:70

YUVIN PERERA reads the Sixth Article of Faith :
"We believe in the same organisation that existed in the Primitive  Church, namely, apostles,     prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists and so forth."

ARABA AGGREY gives a talk : Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appeared to him (Joseph Smith) and told him not to follow any of the churches, but to form this dispensation, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

CANAAN KANGETSAMBO reads Doctrine & Covenants 39:12. "And it shall come to pass that power shall upon thee; thou shalt have great faith, and I will be with thee and go before thy face."

There were extensive quotations from the Book of Mormon and from the thoughts of Prophet Joseph Smith.

I am not quoting any more, just to give you a review of the style of content of the presentation.

In closing, Alisha Kangetsambo said she hoped we enjoyed the programme.  They had worked very hard for it.

The Bishop made the concluding remarks.  Yes, the programme was fantastic.  Some of the children were shy and mumbling a few years ago, today the programme was so polished and confident.  These youngsters are leaders of the future, and their skills and talents are growing.  May God's blessings be upon them all.

I have written this review, to show the immense interest the congregation and their children have in the Church and the life of its founder and the fable of the Golden Plates, which were translated solely under inspiration of God, and therefore are the records of Heavenly Father's message as it reached the Americas, in the form of the Book of Mormon, which is known as another testimony of Jesus Christ, lovingly complementing the Holy Bible, and which work is freely available from the Church and on the Internet.

I testify to you that the Church is a family-oriented church, and there is obvious joy in the people who attend it.  Everyone is most welcome to attend, no one will ask you for any donations,  you can visit and join in the worship and sacrament and sing the hymns to God's glory.

Thanks to the great work by Sister Margaret Valentine for organizing this, together with Sisters Julie Tavner, Muriel Mariucci, Sister Williams for playing the piano, and all others, especially the one who conducted the music but whose name I momentarily forgotten.  Yes, also Sister Smith.
